Can I Improve Collagen In My Skin?

Collagen is the most plentiful protein in your body! It plays an important part in providing structure to your skin and helping your blood clot. It is also a major building block of your bones, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. As we age, our bodies begin to less collagen. This becomes evident when our skin becomes less firm and our bones and cartilage begin to weaken. There are supplements that we can take to help our bones and connective tissue, but what can we do about our sagging, aging skin? Can we improve collagen in our skin? The answer is a resounding YES!

Improving Collagen With Fractora

Fractora is a fractional radiofrequency microneedle treatment that provides patients with skin improvements such as anti-aging, better tone, and improved texture. The treatment delivers radiofrequency waves through thermal tunnels into the skin and stimulates collagen and elastin production.

How Does Fractora Work?

Fractora works by delivering radiofrequency energy to the skin through a series of very tiny pins that pierce the skin. Localized heat is generated by the Fractora pins into the sub-dermal layers. This encourages the body to produce collagen which will rejuvenate and improve the appearance of the skin while encouraging the skin to heal faster from within.

Fractora is commonly used in areas that show fine or deep wrinkles, scars, or discoloration. The most common areas of treatment are upper and lower eyelids, smile lines, cheeks, mouth, and neck. Anyone who has acne scarring, forehead wrinkles, smile lines, or uneven skin tone, can benefit from Fractora treatments.

While microneedling is its own type of treatment for collagen production, the inclusion of radiofrequency is what sets Fractora apart from other treatments. The radiofrequency increases collagen and elastin production to a  more significant degree than microneedling would on its own.

What Is a Fractora Treatment Like?

A Fractora treatment begins with the application of numbing cream on the area being treated. It remains on the area for about 30 minutes before being cleansed away for the treatment. The treatment area will be marked out and then the device is then applied. Radiofrequency pulses and heat are delivered to the area and several passes may be made depending on the desired results.

The treatment can take from 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on the size of the area and the patient’s personalized treatment plan. 1 to 6 treatments may be needed to achieve the desired results.

With the ongoing production of collagen that this treatment stimulates, patients will have improved skin texture and complexion which will give a more youthful appearance.
