Before we answer how CoolSculpting reduces fat, we want to share a few important facts.
1. Weight loss and Fat Reduction are two different things. When a person gains weight, their fat cells get larger. When they lose weight, their fat cells shrink. During weight loss, the number of fat cells you have stays constant, they just change in size. Diet and exercise are the key way that people lose weight. Fat reduction is different. In fat reduction, fat cells are removed from the body. Once removed, the fat cells do not return, nor do the remaining fat cells divide to make more fat cells. CoolSculpting is a non-invasive way to reduce fat while liposuction is a common surgical way to reduce fat.
2. CoolSculpting is intended to help a person who is already nearing their fitness objectives to rid themselves of stubborn fat which is not responding to diet and exercise. This will ensure that the patient sees their best results. After CoolSculpting, patients are also encouraged to maintain a healthy diet and exercise routine to maintain these results.
