What Is Fractora?

Fractora is a fractional radiofrequency microneedle treatment that provides patients with skin improvements such as anti-aging, better tone, and improved texture. The treatment delivers radiofrequency waves through thermal tunnels into the skin and stimulates collagen and elastin production.

How Does Fractora Work?

Fractora works by delivering radiofrequency energy to the skin through a series of very tiny pins that pierce the skin.

  • Localized heat is generated by the Fractora pins into the sub-dermal layers.
  • This encourages the body to produce collagen which will rejuvenate and improve the appearance of the skin.
  • The series of micro-lesions encourages the skin to heal faster from within.

While microneedling is its own type of treatment for collagen production, the inclusion of radiofrequency is what sets Fractora apart. The radiofrequency increases collagen and elastin production to a  more significant degree than microneedling would on its own.

Am I A Good Candidate For Fractora?

Fractora can be used in areas that show fine or deep wrinkles, scars, or discoloration. The most common areas of treatment are:

  • Upper and lower eyelids
  • Smile lines
  • Cheeks
  • Mouth
  • Neck

Anyone who has acne scarring, forehead wrinkles, smile lines, uneven skin tone, or even stretch marks on the body is a good candidate for Body Fractora.

How Long Does A Typical Treatment Take?

A Fractora treatment will begin with the application of numbing cream on the area being treated. The numbing cream remains on the area for at least 30 minutes before being cleansed away for the treatment. The provider may then mark the skin to guide the device as the treatment is done.

Finally, the device is applied to the area and the radiofrequency pulses and heat are administered. Several passes may be made over the treatment area depending on the area being treated and the desired results.

The treatment takes from 45 minutes to 2 hours depending on the size of the area and the patient’s personalized treatment plan. Patients may need anywhere from 1 to 6 treatments to achieve their desired results.

What Results Will I See?

Ultimately, the patient will see:

  • Smoother skin
  • Improved elasticity
  • Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles
  • More even skin tone/reduction of hyperpigmentation
  • Improvement in acne scarring.

With the ongoing production of collagen, this treatment stimulates, patients will have improved skin texture and complexion which will give them a more youthful appearance.

Is There Any Downtime?

There is minimal downtime with Fractora treatments. Patients will see microlesions in the treatment area for a few days after the treatment. There may also be slight redness for up to a week.

In most cases, makeup can be applied in a day or two after the treatments. Patients will be directed to avoid direct sun exposure for a few days and to moisturize the treated area. It is highly recommended that patients use a good broad-spectrum sunscreen every day.
